My Ford F-150 XLT

This is how I will be documenting the evolution of this truck. This includes things that make it look good and the install of my Ham Radios. In my Ford Explorer, I had an Icom IC-706 and a Yaesu FT-8800. There were three roof mounted Larsen Antennas. Two vhf/uhf dual band antennas (one for each radio) and then a 6 meter antenna for the IC-706. I had originnaly planned to make this rig an "HF Mobile Power House" by adding a 2nd battery and had planned to add an HF screwdriver antenna and 500 watt amp, but the ignition noise that I had on HF and AM Broadcast made that idea un-workable. That's not the case with the F-150. There is NO noise ignition on my AM Radio in the F-150. I think it's because of the "coil on plug" configuration. That's a good sign..!!!

Upgrading the Look

My F-150 is a 2013 XLT 4x4 with the Coyote 5.0 litre power plant, extended cab with "Suicide Doors" and the color is "Kodiak Brown Metallic". Depending on the light, you can see that it's Brown Metallic color, or it looks black. Again it depends on the light. There are some paint issues which I'll be showing photos of, as well as some things that I've done to improve the "look" of the truck.

The below links will take you to photos of each upgrade and will open another tab in your browser. When you click on the "slideshow" links, at the bottom will be a "Close Window" button which will bring you back to this page. Enjoy...!!!
